What is a Mindful Outdoor Experience?

A Mindful Outdoor Experience (MOE) is a guided nature meditation ranging from 60-90 minutes long. Drawing from the traditions of yoga, forest bathing, mindfulness, and more, the guide invites participant(s) to increase awareness and quietly notice what they are noticing through their sense perceptions. No prior meditation experience is necessary, and the level of physical activity is very gentle.

Now more than ever, people need to get outside, as our lifestyles are becoming increasingly insulated and disconnected from the natural world. According to a study sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency, the average American spends 93% of their time indoors. Studies also link excess screen time to mental and physical health risks and poor academic performance. Mindfulness activates the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing for a more relaxed and calmer state of mind. Science aside, it feels good!
